Totally see police HQ here!

Fair point on the copy paste. It could be the reflection effect on the (I assume) glass panels on the balconies.

The top portion reminds me a bit of the Joseph Howe building from a shading aspect.

Is there any chance that the Ramparts Ruling can be eliminated? I would also love the only view plane to be to the open Harbour! The other view planes are so useless... look from Citadel Hill and just how much water do you see...it's just a narrow strip anyways! Time to make some major changes.

Demolition fencing is up around Chebucto Needs.

Lady Hammonds Needs should be demolished (or just collapse) for redevelopment soon.

Mice and robbers are going to be lost and confused.

From CityNews The long-time mayor of the Halifax Regional Municipality has announced he will not be running in the 2024 municipal election.

Mike Savage held a news conference on Tuesday afternoon at city hall in downtown Halifax to announce his decision.

The 63-year-old said 12 years in the job was long enough in what was an emotional speech.

“Thank you to the residents of this community to allow me to serve you,” Savage told reporters. “It’s been the privilege of my life.”

Savage was first elected as mayor in 2012 and served three terms, being re-elected in 2016 and 2020. He previously served as Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour from 2004 to 2011.

Premier Tim Houston offered his thanks to Savage for his years of service.

“Mike has a passion for his community and has been a valuable partner as we tackle the challenges of growth in Halifax Regional Municipality,” said Premier Houston. “I look forward to continuing to work with him as he finishes his term and wish him all the best for the next chapter.”

The next municipal election in HRM is set for Oct. 19, 2024.

Do you think Andy Fillmore will resign as MP and run for mayor instead? If he does, what are people's thoughts on that?

As long as Waye Mason and Sam Austin stay far, far away I really don’t care.

I'm with you on that. Have been for years. At this point the Water views are outdated. The city even with the view planes has almost blocked the view anyway. The best way to see the water is to walk the waterfront and explore the local shops down there. Most Tourists do this, and it's been the locals crying about the views. Can't remember the last time I was on the hill, and I certainly wasn't there to look at the water. Hoping the years of the table top skyline are over soon.

Not Mason one hopes. Or if he does run, that he finishes last.

They interviewed Mason the other night, and he neither confirmed or denied his intentions. He is obviously going to run for mayor.

You'd better get prepared for a bike lane outside your front door Keith.

I drove by a guy on a bike last night during the heavy snow. He was waiting in the drive thru line up for one of the weed shops on Caldwell rd.

This sub: "Oh we can't ever be a biking city because no one will bike in the weather."

Also this sub: "Who do those bikers think they are, biking in the weather?"
