It's crazy. Every time a building wraps up, it seems another a few blocks away starts.

45 East 22nd wraps up, this starts. 56 Leonard wraps up, 45 Park Place starts. 99 Church wraps up, 111 Murray starts. 610 Lex wraps up, 138 East 50th starts. 3 WTC wraps up, 45 Broad starts.

Its true. Its madness this boom. Even for places like LIC or DoBro. A new tallest wraps up and another NEW tallest starts work.

The cranes continue to dot the region. When we think there won't be cranes in "X" neighborhood, as one gets taken down, another replaces it. Keeping the skyline constantly full of cranes.

52-Story, 141-Unit Mixed-Use Tower Rises Above Street Level at 281 Fifth Avenue, NoMad

Quote:
Construction is now above street level and ongoing on the ground floor on the 52-story, 141-unit mixed-use tower under development at 281 Fifth Avenue, located on the corner of East 30th Street in NoMad. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits have the tower measuring 266,932 square feet and rising 728 feet to its roof.

The residential units will be condominiums, spread across the eighth through 50th floors. They should average 1,485 square feet apiece. There will also be 7,927 square feet of retail space on the ground, second, and cellar levels. Residential amenities will be on the third through seventh floors.

Victor Group is the developer and Lendlease Corporation are the developers. Rafael Viñoly Architects is the design and executive architect. Completion is expected in 2019.
