As a native New Yorker living in Dallas, I sure do miss the impressive skyline that makes up NY! I haven't been out there since mid-2015 when Hudson Yards was barely taking shape, so what is the likelihood that the cladding for 30 HY be completed by the fall? I'm guessing the last beams will be put up by late March/early April...? Either way, can't wait to see this and the rest of the area!!

Very well put. Thank you

Great view from Hunters Point. I love the American Copper buildings so much.

It was on the 14th of February the fire works, but the 16th was the new year. There's like a week long festival going on and they did it early. Next week some parade in Chinatown (weekend). I'm hoping to attend it assuming it doesn't snow or the weather is fair.

Now that's a city, and wow look at the Queens skyline, that's just blown up over night.

Calatrava and Gehry Among Architects Selected for Hudson Yards Towers
Related Cos. and Oxford Properties Group are behind the 28-acre Hudson Yards development

By Keiko Morris
Feb. 18, 2018

Quote:
Architects Santiago Calatrava and Frank Gehry have been tapped to design residential towers at the massive new development rising on Manhattan’s far West Side, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The two architects are among the designers selected by the joint venture of Related Cos. and Oxford Properties Group, the partnership behind the 28-acre Hudson Yards development, as the team turns its focus to the western, mostly residential portion of the project.

So disappointed that Related is going to ruin this project by letting Gehry be involved.

From Philly here, just spent the weekend in NYC. Pictures just don't do this project justice. Its amazing to see in person. NYC has plenty of gems, this is a wonderful addition. Looking forward to Philly have its own version hopefully in the near future.

Congratulations on your new tallest (He's a biggun...).

You might know that there are two projects in the pipeline, both next to the Cira complex; and most impressive in scale: Schuykill Yards and 30th Street Station.

While taken in isolation, these combined projects prolly won't have the same scale as HY now (mind you, Phase II is yet to come), it's important to remember that when you take Philadelphias current skyline into consideration, the impact of the previously mentioned two projects will be greater than HY in both phases will be here.

I hope that makes sense.

That IMO most likely will depend on whether or not he'll be tapped to design a non-vertival element, ausch as the school or whatever other lowrise facility they have in mind.
