A LOT of new developments in the shot. Niche, the two cabrini condo projects (both in gray), Aurélien, Eight o Five LaSalle, Exhibit on Superior, Hudson (off Chicago), etc. OSC will add even more pop!

What neighborhood is in the shot in post #5736?

Seems like a lot of potential for mid rise infill in that area. Maybe some of those disheveled lots will bite the dust.

It's the former Cabrini Green housing project. Those lots are being developed bit by bit, slowly but surely.

Almost done with the first setback. The glass coverage should be quicker after that.

The current problem is the glass coming from overseas (Germany). EFCO is making the frames faster than the glass is coming in, so they've had to reduce fabrication times.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabrin...%93Green_Homes

most of the open land (and much of the already built) is owned by Chicago Housing Authority.... so complex issues with redevelopment.

apparently they have been having serious problems with the '2nd vocabulary' window wall (intended for the cantilevered section on Wacker, for example) for months and months now...

^That appears to be a complex system, so I don't doubt it. Do you know if it has anything to do with hotel ownership changing hands? All the brand new MEPs had to be demolished and they're starting from scratch. Completely new design dwgs were issued. Insane.

springtime!

I personally can't wait until springtime pictures... it will be so cool to see how the warmer temperatures and sunlight plays across the glass to show its more subtle color hues. Every day it looks different!

Panorama from last night up at 360 Chicago.

Actual is a bit taller than my bad photoshop from last summer. Back then I didn't know the top two frustums were taller then the ones lower in the structure.
