But it blocks the views to and from Mount Royal! That's far more important than what the actual city looks like.

The towers have their mechanical floors located at their base which look to be adding another 3 or 4 floors.

Same example with La tour de la Banque Nationale. 28 floors in total but 25 office + mechanical levels at the base.

Good. Nice to see something in the downtown area.

Strange. Never seen (or noticed) a tower with ground floor mechanical.

Solid render though, don't know how made it.
That is Icon, though the curved glass side will face Gatineau, not the wavy balconies. And that is the roughly the right location, but it won't be that visible. The antenna of Place de Ville C is higher (elevation)than the top of the Icon will be, and since the Icon is about 2 km back, it won't look that tall.

C'est très gentil, Mister Bear, but that was a crappy cut and paste I did (and as J.OT pointed out, it's all backwards!)

Pretty sure Icon will be visible from a LOT of places in the Ottawa metro once it is done. Some mornings, I can see Minto Metropole looming from Blvd Lucerne/Fraser in Aylmer. I can only imagine this place poking out a little more (it's sort of on the same plane, from that angle..)

With its location, I will imagine Icon will be very visible on the 417 westbound around Anderson Rd. Right now when you come from Montreal it's all trees until Hunt Club Road and hello, here's the city they talked about back at that sign 20 km ago..

Once Icon is done, I'm going back there to do a comparison shot.. that's for sure.

Good to see Montreal getting some much needed density and glass towers in the skyline, but that looks like a tabletop in construction.

I finally got around to updating my future Toronto model, but it still needs a lot of work. Minimum height is down to 70 metres. Hopefully I can bring that to 60 or even 50 metres next time. Please let me know if you spot an error so I can fix it.

I'm sure urbanists at City Hall are aware of that terrible menace and are working around the clock to find a suitable solution which will prevent Montreal's skyline from suffering such horrible outcome.

lol à Montréal on est habitué, lorsqu'on regarde le tissu urbain de la ville, c'est du ''tabletop'' à grandeur. Les gens sur skyscraperpage stress un peu trop pour nous.

Before the Montreal skyline 'grows up', I want to see it fill out. that's what's happening now, thank goodness. There still some ugly and spacious lots left to build on. And we've already reached the phase where smaller, older high-rises are being torn down to rebuild taller. Toronto-style height won't come until there is a real pressure-cooker need for it. That will not happen in our lifetimes.

Hey, talking about Laval!
I had a little bit of time and I did this very quickly (therefore I'm sorry for the awful quality) with a screenshot from Google Earth and some basic Paint.NET.
It includes all approved or proposed projects in central Laval as far as I know... and as accurate as possible!

Cool nicely done!

But, all these scattered developments still won't give that suburb of over 400,000 a note worthy skyline.
