I should have expected that. But, Metrotown is also in Vancouver as far as a continental audience goes. If I had said City of Vancouver, your retentive correction would have stood a better chance - otherwise: rejected!

Again: Vancouver - Metrotown.
It looks further, but this one is only from 15 km (9.5 miles).

Someone posted this one over in the Vista Tower thread.

It's worthy of being posted in this thread too.

San Diego. Taken from about 10 miles out into the Pacific Ocean. The southern portion of the San Diego skyline can be seen peeking out from behind Point Loma on the left.

One of these days I'll implement a "Chicago Skyline Distance Angle Solver" based on the relative horizontal displacements of Sears, Hancock, Vista ,Trump and Aon, which I suspect are enough degrees of freedom to fully localize. Using relative height differences would help too, although refraction can mess that up to some extent.

One's of Chicago. No idea about where the 2nd one was taken from. On a side note, 2nd one really shows how long the skyline or high rise clusters go.

we've seen a lot of "chicago from across the lake" shots in this thread, but here's a good one of the skyline from the other side.
