Vancouver is now the number one team in the league! And for the very first time!

The Impact game today has been moved to a later date (October I think) to accomodate the team who landed in Costa Rica yesterday for the biggest game in franchise history.

oh I know it's super early. It's just that we won 4 games in a row. Including 3 last minute goals for three wins and totally dominating the champs Galaxy for 90 minutes.

MLS can't beat Mexican clubs yet the worst team in the league makes it to the finals? How does that happen? Anyways, the Whitecaps get their shot in the next tournament, and probly the tournament after that.

In any event, getting an MLS team into a meaningful game vs a European club would do a lot for the image of MLS.

It still bugs me how they can be so successful in the CONCACAF championship and yet be a mediocre team in the MLS. Even with the new players they have yet to win a game this season.

A Canadian team winning the CONCACAF Cup will mean both Canada and the USA have won the Cup at various points, and it means 2 Canadian teams have made deep runs in a competition traditionally dominated by Mexico. Its a sign that MLS has improved considerably in recent years. The writing has been on the wall for some time that MLS will eventually overshadow Liga MX (and at the top end of the roster it already has), this would be just another step in the right direction. For the top international superstars, MLS is now a top 4 league eventhough in terms of general talent it is only #10 or so right now.

I have to say those Costa Ricans fans are absolutely classeless. There were a total of 5 Impact fans who were in the stadium. The Ultras would have been there but it was way too dangerous. The 5 fans had to be police escorted to their hotel after the game.

Video Link

We will get the SECOND LEG of the finals which means the trophy will be won that day.

Already 15,000 tickets sold in a few hours.

They also threw a coin or piece of metal at L'Impact's keeper that hit him on the head.

Im sorry but why on earth would you go to such a hostile environment in enemy colors with only 5 people with you. Its just asking for unwanted attention especially because the home team is out. Im not excusing Alajuelense's fans behavior (the coin toss is despicable).

20,000 tickets sold already!!!

Club America vs Herediana tonight. Herediana (another Costa Rican team) is leading 3-0 so let's see if they can hold on. Club America is the best team in CONCACAF and tonight they are playing at home.
