It mostly has to do with exposure. The EPL and La Liga both have massive international coverage during prime time TV so people are exposed to and invested in those teams unlike France League 1. You go to small countries like Singapore or some Eastern European countries where they don't have a high profile domestic league and all you see is the EPL on TV, same with La Liga in Latin American countries.

Yes. We get some games from France's Ligue 1 on TV5 the international French network here but even in Quebec, Ligue 1 takes a back seat to the global media machines of the EPL, La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga.

You rarely see scores and highlights from Ligue 1 on Quebec's francophone sports network news shows whereas the European big four regularly show up there.

That said, PSG is fairly well-known and even reasonably popular here. I do see people wearing their jersey from time to time. Of course, we do have a lot of expat French living here and they're the most popular club among our cousins from across the pond.

I expect the August game at Saputo will sell out.

Piatti just saved Klopas' sad ass.

Guy takes out our ONLY forward in the 78th minute in a 1-0 game... Vancouver scores in the 79th.

Like I said earlier, without Piatti we are a NASL caliber team. Funny that Saputo was quick to fire Marsch (who was probably our best coach) but then has yet to fire an awful, awful coach. In fact, I have no clue how Klopas is still coaching at a professional level.

Toronto and Montreal with wins today and Giovinco is dominating MLS right now with 1 regular goal and 1 wonder goal tonight.

Who thinks all 3 Canadian teams make the play-off this year?

Old news now but over the weekend Vancouver became the first team in 29 matches to defeat the LA Galaxy in LA!! We're now back tied for first place in the West with Seattle.

Impact is starting to seriously climb in the standings showing everyone the CCL final wasn't a fluke. Now 5th in the East and in a playoffs position (with games on hand on all teams).

17,820 was the attendance, the best at Saputo this season.

The tower celebrating the win featuring Impact's colors with its new lighting.

Big wins for both Whitecaps/Impact today. Caps win in NY following their win in LA, which keeps them tied in points with Seattle for first in the West. The Cascadia Cup will take on some added meaning this season!

Vancouver already has more road wins (5) than at any time in their MLS history!! They knocked off the New York Red Bulls in NY.

Great win for TFC last night - the three DPs are really proving their worth now

Yep, as long as Saputo will stay cheap, we will battle for a playoff spot, but not more.

Having one designated player is really hurting us. And Piatti was making 387.5k last year (I don't have the 2015 number) to the 7M for Giovinco and 6M for Altidore and Bradley this year. No contest really.

I always thought Ciman was a designated player as well.

It's a shame too.. I've always liked Olympique Lyonnais, and I've been to a AS Monaco game. The league needs to market itself better it should be up there with the other 4. But internationally it "comes across" as a tier 2 league.

What a shame! If it doesn't rain in Philly that much, Piatti doesn't slip and we win the game.

First LA then New York and now New England lose to Vancouver with NE at home. The Whitecaps snap NE's 19 game home unbeaten streak and win again!

Even though I missed the game, yesterday was another reason why we need to spend more money for christ sakes. David Villa (their DP) scored twice while as usual Romero and Piatti are doing all the work offensively for us.

We absolutely dominated the game but still lost. The shots were 25-5 in our favour (10 vs 3 on target). Possession was 55.1% for us.

At least it was the highest attendance of the season at Saputo... 18,112 fans showed up.

What a dominant performance by the Impact. 3-0 win over Columbus. Now please get the DM DP we need. Offense is not the problem, defense is.

The Tower's new colors are really spectacular. I absolutely love them.

What a game between NYCFC and TFC. What a player this Giovinco is.

3 goals and an assist in one game, with 4 of our best supporting players missing...legend in the making...
