As of yesterday, it was still full of cars parked there.

The parking lot is open until August 31st. So hopefully the pavement will be torn up in September.

The colors and vertical lines remind me of 70 Rainey which is why I like it better. Plus the parking must all be underground now.

The brick facade on the podium is a cool addition -- since it faces another brick building on the south side of 5th.

This building looks like it's wearing a zoot suit.

I like the base. I'm just not sure about those stripes (yet). I do like some of the detailing, though.

The parking lot closed yesterday. Did anyone notice if fencing went up or is going up?

It may have closed for the monthly parkers only. That parking lot would make some good money for daily parking. So I can see it staying open until the actual ground breaking.

This article confirms that floors 15 and 16 contain 49 rooms that will be available for both short and long term rentals. This is the first project that I know of that has built in plans to compete with Airbnb.

San Francisco-based Geolo Capital is an equity partner.

Many fewer cars than normal this morning -- not sure if they're still accepting daily parkers, or those were the last overnight stragglers.

Parking lot is completely empty (on a Friday evening); wondering if we’ll see fencing go up this weekend...

Hope so. At last word they planned a 4Q start, and 4Q starts Monday.

Yep, you can see the empty parking lot in this amazing shot of tonight's sunset from the Over Austin facebook page.

Past few times I've walked by during the day there were some vehicles on the site--today all the driveways were blocked by orange/white barricades. Let's do this.

New barricades are a good sign. It looks to be between this one and the Alexan as to who breaks ground first.

Man, every day this moves one inch closer to construction. Drove by on my way in this morning and in addition to the barricades they've added a plywood sign at one of the main entrances where they'll post their permits. Still no fencing or machines or anything like that, though. At this pace construction will begin right around thanksgiving.
