Different story when the box is at +20C and the other side of the windows is -35C and there is blowing snow.

I'll be the first guy to admit and have that the box suite experience is certainly easier to pull off in an indoor stadium like BC Place. But you can still provide a pretty comfortable and good viewing experience in an open air stadium like IG Field in a colder fall/winter climate like on the prairies.
Some one suggested this isn't something that a minor retrofit wouldn't fix in the future. Well why not get it right from the start I say. One thing IG Field has going for it is that it is a partially covered stadium so at least you are partially shielded from the elements ie. wind, rain.
Here's what the Skybox suites look like in Lambeau Field where the Greenbay Packers play. Which is in a cold climate and doesn't even have anytime of roof on it.
No paned windows here.
Even those crappy box suites at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton don't use paned glass. Although that does look like kinda a lousy configuration to me. I don't know what they charge for box suites at Commonwealth but it looks like to me they need to spend a little money to fix them up.
All in all IG Stadium looks like a pretty nice stadium to me which should serve Winnipeg well for many years to come.
