If they are inferior, I can see people taking a pass on these in a few years and sinking their money in the Jets.
I'm just assuming here, but I'm pretty sure MTS Centre suites are exponentially more expensive that those at IG Field. Not sure many companies will be thinking oh these aren't to our liking lets instead spend 10x more to get an MTS Centre box.

Easy to do when you have an indoor stadium that never gets colder than +15C.

Different story when the box is at +20C and the other side of the windows is -35C and there is blowing snow.

I think you nailed it exactly. If it is warranted for a better game day experience I'm sure they will change it quickly.......not a major issue in my books. I have said before that I was in the suites a couple months ago and the suites were fine. If you are not sitting outside you don't care to watch the game anyways.

exactly... you're in the suite prior to and after gametime - if you care for the game, you'll be outside with the rest of us.... otherwise you're an "argo fan"

I'll be the first guy to admit and have that the box suite experience is certainly easier to pull off in an indoor stadium like BC Place. But you can still provide a pretty comfortable and good viewing experience in an open air stadium like IG Field in a colder fall/winter climate like on the prairies.

Some one suggested this isn't something that a minor retrofit wouldn't fix in the future. Well why not get it right from the start I say. One thing IG Field has going for it is that it is a partially covered stadium so at least you are partially shielded from the elements ie. wind, rain.

Here's what the Skybox suites look like in Lambeau Field where the Greenbay Packers play. Which is in a cold climate and doesn't even have anytime of roof on it.

No paned windows here.

Even those crappy box suites at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton don't use paned glass. Although that does look like kinda a lousy configuration to me. I don't know what they charge for box suites at Commonwealth but it looks like to me they need to spend a little money to fix them up.

All in all IG Stadium looks like a pretty nice stadium to me which should serve Winnipeg well for many years to come.

They don't seem to be anticipating any expansion of the list of Grey Cup championships the team has won.

I do not understand what you mean. Houses in Winnipeg have windows and French doors that open and close. We had the doors propped open for every game at Mosaic last season except one when they were mostly closed. That was due to wind not cold.

Either way, I just visited the stadium today, taking a walk in and around the construction site. I have been to all but the Alberta stadiums and this is by far the nicest.

HERITAGE Classic.

Winter classic was created as a response to the Heritage classic which is held in Canada.

You better take a barf bag when you go to McMahon in Calgary. It is a disgrace to the league, and to the city.

Well done Winnipeg!
