So...my 7 1/2 year old Panasonic FZ5 is giving me trouble. I can't change the settings or zoom in or out. It still takes pics, but they look kinda fuzzy and I can only take more than one photo after shutting off the camera and turning it back on.

Anyway, we're looking at a few cameras, but I was looking at a Nikon CoolPix L820 tonight. I was wondering if anyone else shoots with it or what you guys think.

We mostly need a camera that can do good people/kids/pets photos for the family and for me with skyscraper geekdom.

I suggest you go by the Dpreviews, they're usually dead on with their reviews (speaking from experience)

I've waited years for this. Years of waiting and saving and salivating every time I walked into a camera store. Everything I've taken for five years was with a cracked, scratched, and burned D3000. Imagine what will happen now.

Canon Guy here with two DSLR's, plenty of L glass and a 41Mpx camera phone in the pocket. I already thought I have the setup I need, but I still keep contemplating adding one more DSLR and a long telephoto lens to my collection. I need to round up my gear some day into a photo.

In case you are wondering, yes, a 9 foot seamless white will fit in a Hyundai Elantra. Barely.
