Cool new orleans party times

so i went to new orleans, did you know they have streetcars there? you do now

see, proof.

i actually really did enjoy the sculpture garden at the art museum, top notch.

DSC_5679.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

of course i had to make it into st. louis cemetery just under the tour guide deadline

I GIVE TO YOU....POPP FOUNTAIN!

DSC_5667.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

i like how when you have a mental picture of the buildings in NO, and the city actually conforms to your preconceived notions

DSC_5685.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

the french quarter scared me and i spent very little time there

DSC_5612.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

but i will ride me some trolleys which at any given time seemed to be 80% tourist occupied

proof that i made it to algiers

B&W because....ART

DSC_5677.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

okay, you get it, old cemetery

DSC_5603.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

just like toronto, your streetcars get stuck by some asshat parking job

DSC_5639.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

i lied

DSC_5608.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

no signs of middle-aged debauchery

DSC_5609.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

SO MUCH SPANISH MOSS

DSC_5652.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

roughly the area i was staying, its amazing what a giant turd of infrastructure can do for the neighborhood cohesion

DSC_5638.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

that's quacktastic

DSC_5631.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

kinda amazed they build and maintain these themselves. charm is one thing, but wouldn't it be easier to buy off the shelf from bombardier?

DSC_5626.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

ded.

DSC_5600.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

whose brilliant f-ing idea was it to run a highway through city park?

DSC_5671.jpg by the pope UO, on Flickr

lovely little relief on a bridge in city park

Such an incredible city, it really is like no other in the US. I was blown away when I visited Labor Day Weekend back in 2013.

Beautiful set. I do love that city. Plenty of good memories on those streets and bar stools.
