This angle was never Montreal's most flattering, so it's a good thing if the skyline is blocked a bit from this angle.

What I would love to see are a bunch of mid-rises (with a few quality high-rises here and there, but not exclusively high-rises, and no Toronto-style condos whatsover) densely packed in along the canal. This appears to be the direction we're taking, and I'm thrilled. I would love to live on the Canal.

On top of that most of the projects seem high quality.

Very nice indeed! Now, somebody must bring up a proposal to clean up the Peel Bassin. Looks kind of murky...

I follow you on the aestethics of Le 1000 with its post-modern pseudo-historic style or lack of and its empty top but as a user, I must admit that it is a very functional and efficient office building and ideally located for public transport access.

Thanks for the update!
BTW what ever happened to those "two 60 story skyscrapers" that would be Montreal's tallest ones? They must've been canceled.

those two towers are so 2008, devimco dropped those years ago when the entire project was scaled back.

The general suspicion is that these towers, the whole project really, was merely a ploy to increase the value of the land.

It was never serious. In hindsight, it was a very cruel thing to do to the Montreal skyscraper fan community.

The view from our CN tower!

I've always been curious, and I'm enjoying the view

It's no news. That was build in 1964.

Has anyone on this board visited the Bonaventure Hilton? I've always wanted to go on the garden-roof and have a drink or take a dip in the heated pools or something, but don't know if its actually worth the trouble of entering this temple of doom...
