Yeah. The ever elusive major grocer in the area continues.

Or has that been announced already for another location?

No surprise really. Regardless of what people say, downtown residents have pretty good access to nearby grocery stores.

Online grocery shopping with delivery makes it even easier and the new True North apartment block will have a concierge that caters to grocery deliveries.

300 Main St. (@300_main) on Instagram: 32°C today without humidity in the Peg. Nothing slows down the workers from #Marwest Construction.
Winter 2018 began with structural enhancements to the pre-existing foundation and underground parkade. Moving into the spring and early summer months, work shifted towards job-site preparation. In early July, progress began on reaching heights that Winnipeg has never seen before- get ready for some serious vertical!

300 Main St. (@300_main) on Instagram 08/08/18. Beginning of some crane action, moved in the first of the heavy’s today. Had at least 50 workers on site toughing out another scorcher. Just 24 hours later, and already things are shaping up for the next floor. Won’t take long for this project to be the talk of the town!

I was by there yesterday, it already looks impressive. The area closed off for the crane and staging looks quite small.

There's some large steel pieces sitting in the compound on Graham. Looks like permanent steel as it's all nicely coated and finished. Is this a steel tower or is that just some bracing or something to get off the existing foundation?

Steel tower according to Biff I think. I'm looking forward to watching it go up. When's the last time that happened?

Wow. Must've got a good price on steel. Maybe they used steel instead of concrete for weight purposes?

I believe that is also correct. It allowed them to increase the amount of floors.

I was concerned with other things in those days, but that's good to know though. My interest in architecture, engineering and construction really picked up about 10 years ago or so.

Our stairwell window looked across the river towards downtown at the time. My boy liked to be held up to the window to see the progress.

I think they also said that concrete would have capped them at 30 floors, not to mention a higher per sf cost.
