I was getting some updates of Cirrus & Cascade today, and of course, snagged a few of Vista. This is a totally unedited shot, screen grabbed from my editing software. Looks to me like the louvers are two distinct shades of grey

I don't know if it was the sun angle (it probably was the sun angle) but they seemed to blend in a lot more seamlessly than they have in the past. Maybe I'm just getting used to them.

Any chance the center section is solid panels, not louvers?

EDIT: Sorry to prolong this debate. I’ve just gone back a couple pages. But less “open” louvers might explain the difference.

Two things stand out to me now that I think my question has been answered by these recent photos.

1. People's confident posturing about an answer cannot be trusted without evidence and I suspect that this acceptance of assumptions as if they are facts is a

major flaw in social progress.

2. The team designing this building have sometimes shown an admirable sensitivity which was unexpected by me previously.

Thanks for taking the time to focus on this seemingly small issue.

That night image is cool, it almost makes me wish that this building had already been around when Chicago stood in for Gotham in The Dark Knight...or even that they would set the next Spiderman film there or something. It just begs for a dramatic scene over the city, perched inside the blow-through floors that are lit up at night. Like right?

Well chicago is Gotham again but idk if it's a show or movie. I hope we get skyline shots from it with vista though because that would be cool

Yes, The Batman is currently filming exterior shots and action scenes in Chicago (nothing with the main cast) for the now 2022 film release. Most of it seems to be in the Loop, as was the filming for Dark Knight.

They probably could of saved a ton on the artistic set budget if they went when the bridges were up and the windows were smashed.

Although speaking of Vista, depending on when it was filmed, if its included in some shot, maybe they will CGI that or any other tower that was still u/c.

IDK if this was posted (I don't believe so, didn't see it). Looks like sometime in summer, but I thought this was cool just from a maxillofacial jaw repair perspective.

Hopefully the area around Morgan station gets some taller in fill in the future.

Amazing how even Vista kinda gets swallowed up.

Yes the traffic folk have been out in force for the last week. Thompson Ctr will be in it.

Thanks for the photos, Nick.

Vista may be a divisive tower here, but some of the high-rises nearby are embarrassing. I like Vista's two western neighbors, but these two neighbors^ and the two to it's east unapologetically suck.
