This will be a fun one to watch rise coming over the Midtown Bridge.

That makes 6 tower cranes in the city again.

I love how this tower is rising without any marketing or publicity. it's like, "I'm going up no matter what anyone says." meanwhile, d condo has probably the largest ad campaign ever seen in Winnipeg for a condo.. plastered on every other billboard or even on the odd bus!

There is no point in marketing this early. People don't shop for rental apartments 2 years in advance.

I would assume that they made their quota, because they have stated that the building was 30% sold in its first month of sales alone.

Looking back..

It's amazing to think that almost 4 years later the Friends of Upper Fort Garry are no further ahead on building at 100 main.

They probably built the original fort in a month sometime in 1835.

Yes, and a massive empty gravel lot at one of the main entrances to downtown.

.....the silver lining is they should be starting the Upper Fort Garry park shortly.

No, just proceeding in phases. They need a little more money to build the scaled back interpretive centre. They say they should start that project later this year.

Scaled back brings little consolation.

I would be just happy if they could rebuild as much of the old fort as possible, I see no need for some star spangled interpetive center, that is obviously eating up the funds.

Any time the prefix "Friends of" is used you know it's a clusterfuck.

Perhaps if they were "friends with benefits" they'd have more motivation to get a move on.

They've added a couple signs to the fencing at the site. No mention of "Heritage Landing" anymore. Looks like they're going to market it as 300 Assiniboine.
