Don't get me wrong, because I do really like the new rendering much better.
But why is it that every new project with a podium has to mask it with that strange metal screen/mesh. Not only that, but it always seems to have the same kind of zig zag pattern that usually always consists of two shades or colors.
I've seen other projects mask their podiums well such as 8th and Hope. Why can't there be more creativity with this? It can't be much of a budget constraint I would assume, but does anyone care to elaborate for me?
Aerial photos from contributor Hunter Kerhart show the neighbourhood's transition taking place, with 801 Olive Street already making a substantial impact on the cityscape. Reflective glass has appeared on the bottom portions of the tower as the concrete skeleton extends about 15 floors above ground level. Residents are expected to move into the building in 2017.
