Sure you like Architecture now, but did you when you where a kid?
I LOVED architecture as a kid, I knew very much about New York and Los Angeles. From the Skyline of New York to the Logos atop LA's Towers.
Post Your drawings you made as a kid (under 10)
I'd love to see other's drawings.
Mmk, some of my famorite NYC ones, in possible chronological order.
NYC 9:00
No date, No title, but has got to be between late 1998 (age 5) or early 1999 (age 5 or 6)
My Grandma has a book called [America Then & Now] There was an amazing picture panoramic of NYC at dusk from atop the Brooklyn Bridge.
Of Course it was much different than this, for example the Chrysler Building and Empire State would be much farther back. I guess I didnt really try to duplicate it, I only seemed to put buildings I actually knew. Well yeah all the major bldg's are labled, maybe the tower to the left is the American International Building, and the Clock tower might have been the time when I finished the drawing, or simply indicateing what time it was.
The "M" was supposed to be the Manhattan Bridge
New York City Skyline
No Title, no Date, but I'm guessing late 1998 (age 5) or early 1999 (age 5 or 6)
Well I'm not sure what to put it, I dont think I copied off of a real picture, just put together what I thought New York Looked at the time.
Lets See, I see: The CitiCorp Center, Chrysler Building, George Washington Bridge, Empire State Building, World Trade Center, Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges and my sexy curvy Statue of Liberty
Touched it up in photoshop to make it clearer:
For Grandpa
May 2nd, 1999 (age 6)
I remember my grandpa had it on his refridgeorator, before he started to lose it with his alzheimers, he eventually was put to rest in 2005 in his late 70's
As you can see its very simular to the Last Drawing, I'm sure this was made after it in an effort to improve it. All the major landmarks are clearly labled, but as you can also see 17 State Street??, Woolworth Building, World Financial Center and Battery Park appear also.
New - York - City
September 19, 1999 (age 6)
Now I love this one because its not really what New York looks like. From what it looks like I knew which buildings went to, Midtown and Downtown seem correct.
I see: Chrysler, CitiCorp, GE Bldg, Metlife, Pierre Hotel, Sherry Netherland, General Moters, Empire State, Solow Bldg, not sure, not sure, Metropolitan Life Insurance, Merchandise Mart, New York Life, Chase Manhattan, 40 Wall Street, Marine Midland Bank, American International Bldg, One Liberty Center, Woolworth, World Financial Center, Bankers Trust, and the WTC.
There is also the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan & Brooklyn Bridges. I assume thats the Varazzono Narrows Bridge in the background.
Look at that sun smile.
Post some of yours!
