We walked the streets fairly freely as the bus could not park in front of the Children's Palace, a must-stop for foreign tourists to watch performances by kids. On the way, I noticed this educational sign, and many more placed on the trees along the street. Not everything is about crushing the American imperialists.

The kids threw a great performance from singing to dance. They lined up the entrance after the show, where they were showered with flowers and stationery.

Across the street, old-looking students were studying and socializing. University students actually wore uniforms.

Flower shops were everywhere!

Located in the outskirts of Pyongyang, the 2 great leaders of North Korea are buried at the Kumsusan Memorial Palace of the Sun. I wasn't there to see their bodies lie in state today, but instead to admire the massiveness of the place.

Fascinating! Those subway stations are amazing; right up there with Moscow. And the trains look museum-quality clean. Thanks for the great tour.

Great pics mate - thanks for sharing!

It's quite interesting that it seems all foreign visitors gets the same tour - makes one wonder what lies behind the polished facades ( or how the subway stations look where foreigners are not allowed to visit )

It's so bizarre such a place exists - and it's tragic that so many suffer such a regime

Surprising! I definitely pegged Pyongyang as more of a 'subway token' kinda town.

Good morning, Pyongyang.

These double deckers look like Made in China modern vehicles.

I was quite impressed by this gigantic museum featuring captured American relics from the Korean War. There were far more exhibits inside but we didn't get enough time to explore in detail, or on our own.

They even got an American naval ship docked here, with bullet marks highlighted in red.

My focus was on the city's tallest building. Too bad Kempinski backed out of it.
