We have no idea of how this is going to look aesthetically; yet already I see people here giving birth to cows all over the place.

It's *not even* one story high and a scant 25 feet wide....not as if half the facade will be ruined or anything.

Let's find out via renders (if we can) what's intended and IMO we can better extrapolate from that.

Now that you mention that, that is what the twin towers looked like after the planes crashed into them, and before they went down. That is no joke. I'm not saying it to be funny, because it is not, but they were like two giant cigarettes sticking up burning from their ends on down, and they collapsed. However we need to wait until this thing is finished, before we can pass judgement.

Won't the windows above the vent get all gross from the smoke and what not? I'm not liking this idea at all.

It's a vent from a cafeteria, just like any vent from a restaurant on the sidewalk. It won't be blowing smoke, just smelly, dirty, air.

It's a masterpiece. That much is clear. Future generations will look at this tower in wonder.

this conde naste thing is sick. They should consider what building this is- this is One WTC- isn't it supposed to be part of the memorial to the victims as well as an office tower?
If they cover it with glass that looks like the rest of the building so it's invisible, ok, but if not, I say no.

Even if the vent were huge and made of metal and belched black smoke... most pictures of the tower would never show it.

I am sure It will be located low on the North facade, on the section blocked by Verizon in almost every angle of the tower.

These are a bit dated, but provide interesting views.

North Side of the building. If the louvers are not on a particularly high floor, then it's likely it won't be noticed.

But I'm still frustrated that Conde Nast can make whatever changes they please just to save money on top of how ever much money they'll save from tax exemptions and/or other loopholes. But business is business.

The vent will be on towers north side, as noted by some other people here and will likely be blocked by the shorter brown building that sits directly across the street on the north side of WTC 1. You'll only be able to see it if you look for it.

I know, but I couldn't find any suitable photo from the north side

hey, why do they say that freedom tower will be "108" floors ??
the cubic base has only 6 (mechanical) floors; and the glass triangular part is around 80 floors tall.
where are the 20 missing floors ????
