For me I am not offended at all when people say we are buying our way to the Cup and are the Yankees of the CFL. Are Yankee fans embarrassed that their team spends a lot of $$. I doubt it.

In terms of the 2016 season, hopefully the Riders open the season in Winnipeg so the Bombers can end Durrant's season early for the third year in the row.
Why would anyone wish an injury on someone else? You seem to have serious issues.

Let's hope we can continue a good natured rivalry in the thread, without the uncalled for comments.

Glad to see Taj Smith gone. He should have been booted when Dwight Anderson and Eron Riley were turfed. A little surprised to see Anthony Allen gone, but there is an abundance of running backs out there, so I'm sure Jones already has his eye on a couple of players.

I am not wishing they injure Durrant. The reality in pro-sports is there comes a point where your body doesn't perform at the level you need it to continue to be an active player. Much like Pierce was an issue in Winnipeg Durrant is now and issue for the Riders. Reality is if it wasn't a dirty play that took Durrant out in 2014 or 2015. At some point a player needs to say their health is worth more than playing and that time has likely come for Durrant.

No reason to think that Durant will suffer another serious injury in 2016. He was hurt due to contact in 2014 and by a freak accident in 2015. I'd be more concerned if he was suffering recurring concussions, but his recent season ending injuries are completely unrelated to each other.

That being said, the QB position was not the main reason that the Riders performed so poorly last year, at least not in the first half of the season. Their defense was terrible and can do nothing but improve. I find it interesting that Chamblin was harshly criticized for being both Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator, yet Jones is going to fill both of those positions, along with GM and Vice President of football operations. Spread pretty thin...

I think part of Chamblin's issue is that he was unwilling to delegate where he could have, while Jones might be more willing to, at least if media reports are to be believed.

Plus Jones has a track history of success at coordinating a defence and knows how to do it. Whether he can juggle all responsibilities is to be seen. Chamblin did not other than taking credit for some games he claimed to take the reins from Richie Hall. However, in all fairness, most fans took him at his word when he said he was going to be running the defence himself going into 2015. It was after the first game or two of no defence to speak of and no improvement that fans and media started getting on Chamblin's case.

I'm not an expert on the criminal justice system (don't even watch Law&Order) but I do enjoy the theme song during referee deliberations at games. However, what the hell is going on with this case? 2 1/2 years and still no resolution? Isn't there some kind of right to a speedy trial? What is it like to have this hanging over your head for that long? Get on with it.

Taj had a very difficult life story and he was good for the riders but a time comes for all pro athletes to call it a day.

Great... giving up more Canadian talent for an old American receiver that will only be here for one year. Not a great move. The teams with the best Canadians are the most successful. When the Riders were good, they were loaded with great Canadian players... not so much right now.

The Price is Right? (Well, not for the Blue Jays, but hopefully for the Riders.)

The chances of getting a good Canadian in the 6th/7th round is so small, this risk is worth taking.

That's what I was thinking, plus he signed an extension.

Yeah, Price has been all over the place; however, the Riders desperately need a winning season this year. We'll take him.
