Thanks for the heads up. I work evenings this week so maybe I won't bring anything for my dinner break one night this week.

I saw people in the CP mall with their boxes of pizza on Friday afternoon when I was going home, so they must have been doing a run up to make sure everything was working.

Quite a long line for Za over the noon hour, usually only McD's and Tim's get that kind of action in the Cityplace food court. The kiosk looks good, I'll have to check it out once the crowds die down.

First I heard of .
Grant Park is all a buzz with construction on the west side before Co-Op supermarket, because Winner's is set to open this year.
Construction to begin in spring.
Opening 2017 autumn?
I am not sure if they have room on ground level as someone working there said they heard about the possibility of building a second floor for them.
Anyone else know what might be happening?

There's a new store going in there. Minefield or something like that.

Edit: Mastermind toys?

Any word on whether Outlet Collection Winnipeg is still on target for a spring 2017 opening? It's certainly starting to look like opening day can't be all that far off.

For perspective, the sister store Marshalls will have 24,000 sq ft in its joint location opening with HomeSense (21,000 sq ft) at Kildonan Place April 18 as reported by the Firewalled Press.

^ The Garden City Winners already feels kind of small so the GP one will really feel tiny. But I'm glad to have that sort of big box shopping available to those in central neighbourhoods... I rarely ever go to Winners because I hate schlepping out all the way to their stores.

I believe it is supposed to be May.

There are a few Outlet stores looking for staff already, such as The Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Nike, Adidas, Boathouse, Garage/Dynamite combined and added since yesterday are Ardene and Samsonite, along with Off 5th. The opening is still supposed to be some time in May.

certainly glad to see grant park stick it to shindico lately with all these new major retailers moving into that mall. seems to be knee-capping their development around the new Walmart, which doesn't seem to be a draw at all!

The Shindico thing is in a bit of a no-mans land. Sure, nice a close for people in the area. But really, it's tucked away in a corner. I would bet most people don't even know it exists.

I never shopped at Walmart until that one opened up, and that's mainly because it's delightfully dead all the time so shopping there is a pleasure. It's hardly any busier than Target at GP was. It must be one of the least profitable Walmarts anywhere.

Yes, it's actually a reasonably non-hellish shopping experience there.

When did Parkside Ford sell out? I was just listening to the radio and got the tail end of an ad for Vickar Ford at 2000 Main St.

I recall Parkside Ford had sold out almost ten years back and was "Cam Clark Ford" for a good stretch. They even had plans to build a new dealership on McPhillips near Murray Rd. That likely got tripped up at City Hall with them not having a community plan for that area in place much like the announced Walmart for that same location never happened before they finally settled on the Court St location.
