Hey! You know Sacramento has a tower that is reffered to as "The Darth Vader Tower".

Though I think it is more deserving of that title than Yard.

Seattle's tallest building is also referred to as Darth Vader. I would imagine a lot of tall dark colored buildings get the same nickname.

That "Live Here" sign cracks me up. Do the crime, do the time. Nothing about this building looks welcoming. Behind the YardYardYard sign, I almost expect to see a chain gang toiling away the afternoon.

Albuquerque has one too, and it's very deserving of the name.

Also, looks like a new Type II Design Review has been submitted. Unclear from description if it is just to legalize the changes that are now built, or if it proposing new revisions:

alterations to previously approved design review for Block 67 (the Yard)

If they're planning on having people move in as soon as July, it seems doubtful that they'd have enough time to change the exterior, which means the following didn't happen (and I'm not surprised):

...could they have possibly been talking about another project? If so, holy cow. I can't imagine what that could be.

Even though they didn't mention the project by name, I'm completely sure they were talking about Yard.

Would they really have enough time to fix it if they intend to have people moving in by July?

They've got ads up on Craigslist (and presumably elsewhere), so it looks like it's full steam ahead for leasing.

It'll end up with a bunch of bad Yelp reviews about how construction was ongoing when people moved in, then it'll fade away

No that's actually the Fourth & Blanchard Building that's referred to as the Darth Vader Building up here. Not the Columbia Center.

Maybe so, but ever since it was built, I've always heard the Columbia Center referred to as Darth Vader. Which is kinda my point, it's an overused comparison.... almost EVERY tall dark tower has been called Darth Vader at some point. It's not an exclusive moniker.
