Road Trip!

This Presidents' Day weekend, we decided to spend 3 days on the Central Coast of California. Yeah, there was an atmospheric river, but we said "Fuck it." Plus, we had planned this trip months ago. So what if it rained. In fact, the rain somehow made it more fun and cozy. And it didn't rain the whole time we were there. It was a boozy weekend for us too. Eat and drink, eat, eat and drink, drink...
Cayucos.

Had lunch at the Lunada Garden Bistro.

We had to wait about 10 minutes. Not bad.

I joked with my partner, "Maybe I can pass the time by playing some Burt Bachrach standards..."

We were seated on the patio.

They weren't kidding calling it a garden bistro.

We both had lobster enchiladas... we had never had lobster enchiladas before. They were... ok... a little bland. So we asked for salsa.

Morro Rock, as seen from Cayucos (as opposed to seeing it from the town of Morro Bay).

And the rest, mostly of Cambria, which I've posted a thread on last year. So, these might look like repeats. We did explore a nature area that we'd never been to before... but it still might look like a repeat.

It was pie time. People have raved about this place, so we finally decided to check out their pies.

I got the olalieberry pie. Yum!

My partner had a peach and blueberry pie. I had a bite of it---it was also yum!

That's one thing about California's central coast... The fruits/produce are always so good, because the source is so near.

Not a great picture, but this was a very delicious duck breast, with rice pilaf and broccoli.

A very friendly squirrel. It followed us for a bit. I think it thought we were gonna give it food.

A quick jaunt to Paso Robles...

... to Tin City. Our first time here. We didn't realize it was a big draw. There were even a few tour buses here. They have wineries and some breweries...

But we went for the hard cider.

It started raining when we arrived, so we thought that it wouldn't get crowded---but it did. More people started coming in, even families with very small children. They were noisy and screaming... my partner looked at me and said "You wanna leave?" And I said "YEAH." We already had a few ciders each anyway.
