^ Yeah, I've checked it out. Looks incomplete unfortunately. Do you mind posting all the 200m+ projects in JC? I'd appreciate it.

I tried once listing all of the development projects. The list is outdated and missing some entries, but could be helpful in creating a complete list.

That would be nice. All I need is 200m+ projects, i.e. 656ft+ towers.

I'll take a look at the JC thread. If I see some stuff thats missing I'll recommend CIA add it (or post it here for an update to front page). But yea, for the most part, it lists most of the projects.

Yea the CTBUH list is incomplete. Likewise, so is Emporis.

Edit: Hunser, do you use an Excel sheet to keep track and the order of projects? I would recommend adding the ones from CTBUH and the recent one proposed one from today that meets the 200m standard. A couple of projects such as the Capital Partners Development don't have heights out yet as its a 12 tower project.

If we are just talking 200m, its not really alot speaking. Most of them fall in the 100-199m category. Up to you or we could just wait until those projects are revealed?

In fact I had an Excel sheet but it got lost months ago with the latest update to 14.04 LTS. But it doesn't matter as the Wiki page works as a kind of backup.
For starters I would include only 200m+ projects for JC so they can fit in nicely (list). I wouldn't mind of course to see <200m listed here too, but I guess that's a lot of work.
Btw my plan is to compile a 200m+ list for Shenzhen by February (semester break). I already gathered some info but man there are so many towers ... wish me luck.

Get ready to use Google translate. Thats the toughest part is understanding the sloppy translation from Mandarin to English. Feel free to use my Shenzhen thread as source. I have most of the tall ones, but once it goes below 600 feet, its just so many.

New tallest? 500m+?

New Times Square mega tower one step closer to becoming reality
Gary Barnett's Extell Development acquires key piece in 45th St. assemblage for $46M

Quote:
Developer to the 1% Gary Barnett is one step closer to bringing another monolithic tower to Midtown.

His company, Extell Development, has closed on the purchase of a 52,000-square-foot parking facility at 251 W. 45th St. for $45.78 million, according to public records. The garage can be razed and combined with an adjacent empty lot already owned by Extell to make way for a skyline altering building.

Experts said the Times Square tower could be Barnett’s tallest yet and would most likely be a hotel, despite Barnett’s tendency towards building luxurious condos.

“This is not really the right place for apartments,” said broker and analyst Robert Shapiro of Center City Real Estate. “With these large floor plates, he’d be better off with a hotel or offices.”

Barnett, a master of assembling prime Manhattan development sites and the developer of One57 on W. 57th St.’s Billionaires’ Row, has been patching together the site for years.
Quote:
He acquired a key part of the site last year in an unconventional property swap deal with real estate giant the Related Companies, which swapped it for another piece of land in the Hudson Yards area on the west side.

Since then, Barnett has been hungrily buying up air rights from theaters in the neighborhood in order to make his tower even taller.

Barnett did not respond to a request for comment on his plans for the building.

The parking lot is one of several key pieces in a larger assemblage

New mixed used building: 300k sq-ft

69-79 Greenwich St; also known as 32-42 Trinity Place

Looks to be roughly 600 feet or so based on observation. Its bound to change though as this is a concept for now.

Ugh. That's gonna block my view (from Jersey City) of the Empire State building. I hope the design is changed.

Not at all. I hope they go taller and denser. But please give me something decent to look at - the current design is barf.

Based on the architecture coming out of Toronto, you wouldn't understand.

Do we know about this one?

A Proposed Megatower on the Pier Would Wreck the South Street Seaport

Hughes is buying up the block of South Street between John and Fletcher, which comes with preapproved plans for a 1,000-foot tower at 80 South Street. Here, barely a block from Pier 17, even a supertall skyscraper would find itself at home in the bristling Financial District, leaving the seaport unmolested. Even though Hughes needs no approvals for 80 South Street, that site may open the door to a different deal.

Hudson Spire site: http://nypost.com/2014/12/23/mighty-...amesake-tower/

Renowned artist and collector Hunt Slonem is moving from one pioneering location to another.

This time he will be moving his antiques, flea-market finds, tropical birds, art studio and offices to a sun-filled 30,623 square feet in Sunset Park.

He will be moving from the entire third floor of 22,500 square feet at 509 W. 34th St. in Hudson Yards, which is now a development site.

Tishman Speyer Properties purchased the Hudson Yards building, which will be torn down in 2015 to make way for a gigantic super-tall 2.55 million-square-foot building with an estimated cost of $3.29 billion.
Well, I'm quite curious as to how this will turn out. They have the square-footage and the money. My guess is 1,400ft roof + 200ft spire = 1,600ft total. Could be a very nice supertall, but still not a signature tower [would need more height fot that].

Btw I'd disregard the low floor count for now (just take a look at 1 Vanderbilt and 30 HY...). I'm sure it will change in due time.

Would rank as the 6th most expensive tower ever built at that price.
