Finally, a positive thing in this crappy season. We manage to beat Defoe and TFC for the Canadian title. Hope it will have a positive effect for the rest of the year!

Vancouver versus Montreal. Roof is open at BC Place not a cloud in the sky.
Vancouver is unbeaten in 7 matches. 5th in the west with 2 games in hand.

Nothing like a game vs. the Impact to kill any sense of excitement for the 'Caps.

I almost bought tickets for the game...and am really glad I didn't. I was worried that there might be some rust after the 2-week break and it seems like there was. Or they just played a boring team

^^^ Maybe both a boring team and 2 weeks of rust. Painful to watch but we got another point and are now 8 games unbeaten.

I don't think it was that bad, lots of opportunities missed. But we are really bad this year and every fans I know hate Klopas coaching style. I am going to the game this evening against Houston, I manage to have good seats tickets for only 15$ each, people are already starting to desert the sinking ship.

A nice rocket from Gilberto, of TFC:

Been on holidays but over the weekend Vancouver best its biggest rival, next door neighbour, and best team in the league Seattle 1-0.
In newer news, Vancouver is aiming to become only the second team in the league with its own NASL team right in New Westminister. Only the Galaxy do now.

Isn't it a new USL PRO team? Regardless, that's fantastic news, Vancouver will be churning out massive talent! Every major city in Canada should be getting nasl or USL PRO teams until we get own Canadian professional league...

Ya sorry you're right it is a USL Pro team. But anyways for sure if every major city in Canada had a team in this league we wouldn't be ranked 120th in the world or whatever.

Vancouver defeated defending Champs Kansas City 2-0. The Whitecaps now have less losses than anyone else in the entire league. And currently sit in a playoff spot.

Vancouver and DC are the only legit scary teams to me as a TFC fan, probably the fastest teams in the league. Oh yeah and RSL, but only due to them having played together so long developing excellent chemistry, we'll get there eventually.

MLS won't have national relevance in this country till it gets to 5-6 teams here. It's only in football and hockey where we have a league that Canadians from coast to coast follow. Soccer can get there, but they'll have to go to Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa first. All 3 are bigger than metro Salt Lake City, so it's not like these Canadian metros are too small. They're 3 of the richest metros in Canada/US too.

There is already momentum to create a national league though there are various leagues already in this country who compete in provincial and even national tournaments (Canadian Championships which Montreal recently won). Edmonton and Ottawa already have professional soccer teams and Calgary has interested owners who are currently negotiating. In just 7 years we went from 0 to 5 professional soccer teams and a national championship they all compete in each year. One could easily use such logic on the CFL too but it would be pointless to take this conversation there. On this page we have people from Quebec, Ontario and BC commenting on their MLS teams, so it has clearly got a following across the country (I know of people in Saskatchewan and Newfoundland too who follow Canadian MLS teams). Not to mention the rapid growth in popularity of this sport in our country.

Give MLS 10 years and they will be ahead of NHL in North America (probably second or third in Canada) . The championship is growing very fast with more and more good player play in it ( Thierry henry, Frank Lampard, Jermaine Defoe, Michael Bradley, Robbie Keane, Obafemi Martins, Clint Dempsey, Kaka and many more)

There have been a few studies completed and they all say that it's still too soon to establish a country-wide National League. One of the studies stated that a model similar to the CHL could work and I think that is where the CSA need to go. It might not be glamorous but firm foundations are nothing to laugh at.

Looks like another tie for the Vancouver Whitecaps. We're number one in the league for most ties. Wow, that's great.
Both Toronto and Montreal lost today.
