Just some shots of the cranes to show where it'll be.

Smack dab in the middle in the first pic. Also middle in height. All 3 will look very nice together from across the river. I hope Whole Foods continues with their plans for a new tower in that area. It will add a nice cluster of tall bldgs in that corner of dt.

At the Bowie, for example, amenities will include a clubroom and outdoor deck on the 31st floor; a landscaped deck with a dog run on the 10th floor; and a rooftop pool the developers say will be Austin’s highest swimming pool.

Right now I THINK the Milago has the highest pool. It's on the roof, over the 13th floor. Any other thoughts?

I think The Four Seasons Residence holds that title.

Yeah, the pool at the Four Seasons Residences is the highest right now. It sits at the main roof level at about 360 to 370 feet above the street. From what I remember reading at the time, it was/is the highest rooftop pool in Texas. You can see it in the Google images on the west side of the building to the left of the mechanical penthouse.

The pool deck at 3 Eleven Bowie will probably be around 390 feet.

I love that the little guys along 5th were able to hold out.

According to the manager at Tiniest Bar, they received an increase in code violations while 311 bowie development was heating up. He said their fight was exposed to the public with a petition last summer and after that happened, the code violations stopped coming.

It's possible that the story is more sensation than substance, but either way, but I'm glad they are still open.

I too am pleased that this "iconic" establishment manages to survive, but I would like to point out that this particular icon has only been in business for about five years.

Man, it looks great. I love the idea of Austin having lots of shady sidewalk cafes. This one is just wide open to the outside. Love it.

I would be very surprised if it wasn't built with the ability to convert to condos at a later date.

Thanks for the update. It's kinda surreal to actually see something being built there.

Thanks for the pic. Is there any way we can see what's going on creek-side?

Are you asking for a pic or are you asking how to view it from Creekside? Serious question...not being a smart ass.

If you are in the area its easy to view from Creekside. There are steps on the 5th street bridge that crosses the creek that lead you to creek level. OR there is a walkway on the east side of the creek that is just below the aminities deck for the Monarch. Both give great views.

If you are asking for a pic. Ooops sorry, I'm sure someone will pop in with one soon.

Yeah, the latter. I'll walk by the areas you mentioned. Thanks.
