Once the age of the private car is past, until then the parking garage will most definitely stay (the park is on top of a below grade parking garage).

Wich will be never. You watch them replace that parking garage and park someday with a building.

Once you get past the lack of limestone, this tower looks solid from the east and west. I would take another. Taller. WITH LIMESTONE.

I spent some time Thursday studying it from the Riverwalk, and I still can't understand the love for this building. The random plane changes and variation games played with window surrounds seem like someone who can't quite commit to Deconstructionism more than someone paying homage to Moderne.

^ yeah, now that it's finished, it's worse than i was hoping for.

what a mess.

this is the worst big tower from stern that i've ever seen. a shame chicago got his d-list design.

Agree - The interiors of this building look great, but the exterior is lacking. It's a shame since 220 CPS and 520 park turned out great.

Oh, trust me. It can get worse, as anyone who lives in Los Angeles can tell you...

Wish it took more cues from something the likes of 333 North Michigan, which kind of takes a similar massing albeit more squat. that tower has always been one of my favorites. OBP would be way better with a similar crown as the current, with less patching(?) of the facade and more vertical expression. IMO of course

There are things I like about this building. The crown looks nice and I do hope they light it up a night. The height is great for the location. It helps pull the skyline just a little more east and towards the lake.

At any rate, I can't wait for 400 N LSD to get underway so that OBP is blends in.
