I walk past this every day and it is pretty high on the "people immediately pull out their phone for picture" scale. Same with 150 N Riverside across the river.

^I've noticed that too, especially when they were building the foundation. Passers by had a great perch to look down from. Now, it's the structure itself that's catching even the laymen's eye!

It's not box shaped though, it's actually wedge shaped with the angled side being serrated and standing on trident columns. This is going to be more striking than 150 N Riveside if you disregard the base of that building. The serrated facade along the river is going to be incredible and is also going to make for awesome interior spaces particularly once Salesforce Tower goes up.

Was able to catch a glimpse of the building's core from Canal St. Yesterday

I would take it a step further. Some of us, such as me, are totally obsessed. I've never been interested in construction before, other than mild curiosity. When I look at the progress twice a day on my way from and to Ogilvy I try to predict the next step in construction. And I usually get it wrong.

This leg of the river canyon seems like it's quickly developing into a spectacle for tourists on a more significant level.

This photo just makes me long for the inevitable riverwalk extension beneath these behemoths, but also activating those filled-in archways at the river level of the Civic Opera. What a spot for opening those into alcoves for vendors/the public. How about bringing on the Art-on-the-Opera light show on that blank wall. It's perfect as a backdrop for something.

Very cool how that construction hoist is sticking out over the river. Nice use of limited space!

The blue serrated glass wall is going to look amazing juxtaposed with The Lyric Opera's limestone.

I remember hearing some mandate that elements of the General Growth Building (formerly the Morton Salt Building) must be preserved and reused here. The corrugated stainless steel panels in particular. I'm having a hard time picturing how they will be used tastefully here, does anyone know what the plan is?

I believe they are going to be reused as panels along the river walk side of the building. Seems like a pretty easy thing to reuse if you ask me, just put those up instead of granite slabs along the walkways.

Looks like the skips are floating on the river from the webcam view.

This is much bulkier(in a good way) than I think anyone could have expected given the dimensions of the old GGP building

Looks like Lurker and Nick were 100% right about the angled columns two pages back. They'll have no effect on the overall form of the east side.
