This building will start to look really cool once the pedestrian walkway is built!

What a project. It's going to truly invigorate this long sleepy (and heavily surface parked) part of town.

It looks like they are completing a floor every 6 days, so I calculate top out end of September, early October. But every week until then, it will have an increasing impact on the skyline. Wow, that was my Captain Obvious moment...

As a bonus, the Fairmont will hide the Hilton from some views.

The last piece of the Fairmont puzzle was approved today - the elevated walkway to the CC. There are no drawings of it, but I wouldn't think it's much different from the early renderings.

Thanks. That's a pretty good view of Millennium Rainey as well.

Yep, this building is starting to be visible from a distance. Also becoming visible are the office building going up behind the Northshore, the hotel project at 7th and Congress, and the nearby UT System office building. I also was very struck by the impressive new apartment tower (can't recall the name) to the southwest of the Criminal Courthouse and Jail complex. It looks very attractive viewed from Guadalupe. The transformation downtown is breathtaking. Hard to imagine that this time next year there will be another three four to five hundred foot buildings going up that are just getting started.

Amazing to think that 5th and West and Shoal Creek Walk have yet to pop up above their foundations. Of course, The Independent, Austin Proper, and Third + Shoal should be quick to follow. Although, I believe Proper has some below level parking which seemingly slows things down.

Also I think the building you're referring to is "The Rise", formally known as Aspen Heights Apartments. If not, then other new construction in that general area includes the abstract "Seven Apartments"

It can now be seen from Auditorium Shores, in the gap just right of One Congress.
