This is America's tallest tower, for goodness sake! And one that has enormous symbolism. Really an epic fail in my opinion....
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's gorgeous and fitting for NYC.

I know the answer to this already, but why the hell should we care about high rises in Asia? Honestly, why can't we be content with our own buildings? New York has the largest collection of different skyscrapers in the world. Simple but dominant, flawless, beautiful, and/or great has always been the ways to characterize almost every great building not only in NYC, but the US as a whole. The WTC is continuing that tradition. It may not be inspiring on the onset, but if you take into consideration that 1 WTC, like the Twin Towers, represents abstract ideas in a simple concrete fashion, then 1 WTC becomes less bland and more great. But's that's just my opinion.

NY has gorgeous prewar beauties that others envy. Are you one of them?

The shiny blue glass and angles of the buildings look Asian to me like SWFC or BOC tower in HK.

It's not a bad thing at all.

Isn't that same exact location and angle where the first plane impact was recorded on video?

My video from yesterday morning, also (off topic) in the video we see the tower cranes for 432 Park Avenue, I know it was not a great angle for the tower it self.

Next time I see someone use the word "uninspiring" to describe a skyscraper, I'm going to slash my computer screen in half with a katana.

Alright, enough about the Twins and Asia already. We're here to talk about this building.

Masons install granite pavers at the south entrance of One WTC.

Older but great shot...

Also there needs to be a building of a similar size or scope above those ramps leading to the Brooklyn Bridge. Such an eyesore... (the ramps and roads)

The NY World Building was torn down to build those ramps.
