Calgary culture

I came across a Calgary Herald video of the Ismaili Muslim community's Calgary Stampede "Sunset" Breakfast this year and thought it very worthy of highlighting. Couldn't find a best place for it, but thought a new thread highlighting celebrations of culture within a Calgary / Canadian context would be worthy.

Watch this video, and then as other such things come up, please share. This is very cool and I can't imagine happening in too many places in the world. Note that while the Ismailis are a religious affiliation (one of several Shia Muslim communities), they bring with them a variety of cultural traditions. In this case, we see their event featured eggs, pancakes and bharazi, which I'm told is an east african dish made of pigeon peas and a spicy coconut milk based breakfast curry.

Unfortunately not on YouTube, so you'll have to visit the link.

Cool idea having the Breakfast at night as it ties in with Ramadan. Unique indeed, probably the only place on the planet hosting a Stampede breakfast with east African dishes.

I was wondering what they would do this year. Considering this is one of the largest Stampede breakfasts (I think) it would have been a shame to not have it at all this year. Great way to work around the issue at hand.
