On a random note, my friend got swine flu today. Plus I saw some hares at U of C on my way to The Den, they seem to be a lot more friendly than the ones around here. I'll take up my camera when I'm on study break.

Thanks -- yes, we're with iStock, although my group is within the Getty Images structure and not directly related to the iStockphoto website or business. Nonetheless I've been with iStock for almost eight years in some form or another.

Just the other day I got into a huge argument with a guy from (where else) Edmonton - his claim was that all Flames fans are the biggest haters in the world, and people in Calgary are incapable of cheering for other Canadian teams. Unlike every other city where everyone gets behind whatever Canadian team goes the furthest every year.

I just smiled and nodded. Again, it said a lot more about his friends than anything else.

Don't judge a city from your select few friends - and conversely don't pre-judge your friends based on the city they're from.

PS: Canuck fans are just insecure because they're the least successful Canadian franchise, ever. Even the Sens have done as much as the Canucks, and they've been around not even half as long. And I say this as a Jets fan, who formerly held that title.
I hear ya man. I tried to qualify my statement by saying that ALL Canuck fans aren't like that, I certainly recognize that. I wouldn't even say that the people who message me on FB are friends other than the FB sense of the word. I just find it random how the people who are Canucks fans on FB come out of the woodwork to talk trash on my page!

toruism video

This is too funny. I'd post this in Skybar, but it'll piss of Cleveland forumers, which I don't intend to. It's just hilarious.

The Cleveland Tourism Board gave me 14 million dollars about 8 months ago to make a promotional video to bring people to Cleveland. As usual, I waited till the last minute and I ended up having to shoot and edit it in about an hour yesterday afternoon. I probably should have invested more time.

probably NSFW

We're not Detroit!

It's funny because it's true.

Hey anyone have an idea where one might find a large selection of peel & stick (I know I know) tiles in this city? Looking for some cheap black & white checkerboard flooring.

I love it when my home town makes the internet. I wonder if any of our Edmonton compatriots were parked in front of the Nexopia offices on the 5th of May.

Calgary made Jalopnik a while a go when the owner of ZR was arrested for being dumb.

Personally I think he's more a douche than a wanker, but I can see your point of view.

I don't know if anyone here listens to the Fan960, but some of the Mike Richard's skits are pretty funny. did anyone hear this morning's skit of Roberto Luongo talking to Mike Cammalleri?

Do they link any of those Mike Richard's skits online afterwards?

I usually only tune into the FAN for Jim Rome when I am in the car during his show.

I listen to the Fan960 in the morning quite often, wasn't listing this morning though.

Here's a few older skits of Mike Richards doing Roberto Luongo.

Edit: I see FP has provided a link to all the old archives. Some of his bits crack me up.

speaking of radio bits, anybody remeber the 'Sergio Masterbaker' ones from the 90's? There were some hilarious ones. I think the guy who did them was Roger Rhodes, can't remember which station.

I don't know who did them, but it was on C-Jay 92.

Time for a random question: Someone I know lives on an acreage between Cochrane and Calgary. They have 40 acres and I have no clue if they're in city limits but they live on a Range Road. Given the size of their land, would it be legal to take out a non-restricted firearm (I'm thinking semi-auto .22LR) and bang away at stuff? (Not hares.) It would sure beat going all the way to the CRPC, and the change of atmosphere would be nice.

The answer is likely found in the MD of Rockyview Firearms Bylaw
