As you mentioned, I may not know much, but I’m not a fan of real know-it-alls like your uninformed correction to my 75 The Esplanade post (on that other site): isaidso: “one small correction: this isn't real brick it's fake brick. These are panels with a thin veneer attached to the front that is meant to mimic brick.”

A photo posted on that thread showed the first row of layed brick and a brick-layer (holding a brick) on the scaffolding. FYI pre-cast brick veneer isn’t totally “fake” or “mimicing” - veneers are decorative but are made from the same materials/same processes as other brick. Maybe your search engine factoids don't always portray the smarter than everybody result you hope to achieve.
This could be old fashioned as we haven't built masonry brick walls for many decades. I have also never lived in a post war suburb. Toronto's homes are predominantly masonry. There's two layers of brick that are supportive of the floors. 75 Esplanade is a brick veneer even if it is made of hand laid blocks.

I've grown so accustomed to Montreal's skyline looking a certain way that I had forgotten how many great tall new projects are going up. Montreal has always been one of those cities that I could always forgive for not having tons of new high-rise projects because the city is already beautiful as it is with its historic elements throughout. Can't wait to see how all these new projects contribute to the downtown skyline!

This first round has the potential to turn the skyline awkward and pubescent. It will take a few more rounds to bring it together.

For the first post of 2021 on this thread, I have some images of the M City buildings going up...I passed by today, but didn't get close due to my walking route. I'll get some closer images next time.
14. M City M2 - / Mississauga ON/ 61 Floors / / 201 meters
17. M City – M1 - / Mississauga ON / 197.8 / 60 floors /

First, looking north toward the "downtown"...the M City towers are the left crane in this image:

Looking east on Webb Drive...they're really starting to show their heft:

Always surprising how many very tall construction projects in Toronto you either forgot about, or didn't even know existed.

Montreal is on fire! Can't wait to see how all these new towers affect the skyline. I always thought Montreal needed some infill. The skyline is a bit spread out, so this will really help create not only height but density.

I'm more concerned they will fill in the skyline too much creating a flat look. I hope they won't all block out my favorite towers in the city.
