Correct, essentially. Same with the Elbow River. Dogs drink out of it, people surf, swim, paddleboard, and float down it. The source glaciers start at 100 km away and the primary source is about 200 km away, for both rivers. Calgary dumps virtually zero untreated water into the environment, even downstream. The Bow passes through cities and towns with a combined population of only 60,000 by the time it reaches the city, and the Elbow is only maybe 2,000. This is a big part of why Calgary has been named the cleanest city in the world for over a decade.
