3 going up in a 2-3 week span is pretty nice. Id assume CC2 crane is coming within a month. I wonder which site will be next after that? My money would be on 1601 Vine or the Brickstone project on Chestnut Street.

Rodin Square has a tower crane base installed. That will be the next one to rise. Rodin square will probably have two tower cranes though. FMC will have three tower cranes, so we'll see two more going up soon. And CITC will likely have 3 or 4 cranes.

If 1100 Chestnut is going to have a crane, that will be the next likely project to have one go up, but usually a tower crane isn't used until a project is 8 stories high.

1601 Vine and One Water Street will probably be the next two to have towers cranes go up.

1100 chestnut isnt that high, but it all depends on whether or not there is space for a mobile crane on or near the site. The nonprofit housing going up near 9th and arch has a tower crane and I believe its only 9 floors. LIkely due to lack of space on the site.

Forgot about One Water Street- there should be something there in a couple months. That may be the next significant crane to go up (not counting additional FMC cranes) if there is no subgrade parking in that project.

It's been my experience that tower cranes are only used on buildings in Philadelphia if they are 8 floors or higher. 1100 Chestnut is only 7 floors, just like SouthStar Lofts which no tower crane was used for. Penn's new dorm at 34th and Chestnut is another example. 7 floors and no tower cranes.

The 9th and Arch Project HOME development is 8 floors and has a crane. And Granary is 9 floors and had a crane.

One Water Street will have above grade parking because it is located within a flood plain.

While height does matter when it comes to which type of crane to use it really depends on the logistics of the site, type of structure, etc. There are countless of different reasons.
