Some of the scaffolding is down-I just cycled by-but it looks to be at least 6 weeks away from opening.

It would be nice if I was wrong it's a killer location but they've completely redone the building so there are a lot of details yet to be determined.

Mahony & Son's mildly irritating website claims to be hiring for the Stamps Landing location but has no details.

The Paramount Place Earls location (Scotiabank Theatres) is now called "Earls Test Kitchen":

Earls Restaurants has made renovations to its restaurant at the corner of Hornby and Smithe streets that fly in the face of increasing profitability at that landmark location.

Not only did the 65-restaurant chain remove 20 seats in the upstairs of what is now a 244-seat bistro. It also spent $1.2 million to build a test kitchen in that space.

^These days restaurants seem to be BC biggest cultural export*.

*I'm aware that Earls started in Edmonton, but it become what it is operating out of Vancouver.

seems to be the norm if the place is within 100 ft of the water :kook:

I don't get how average overpriced food thrives in this region.

La Bodega closing forever this month

http://www.wevancouver.com/eat-drink...uver-1.1199809

This is the saddest I've been about a restaurant closing maybe ever. My wife and I had one of our first dates there and love it. I kept asking if/when they're moving and the employees didn't have any idea a condo was planned for the spot. Then they started saying they're looking at a location in Yaletown, so I was hopeful.

I don't know where else to get real Spanish tapas in Vancouver. Any suggestions?

they are actually moving to Main Street right next to Campagnolo in the recently leased retail space to the north.

Really?!?! Is this rumor or fact? I don't want to get my hopes up if this is just something you heard somewhere. That would be an awesome addition to the neighbourhood.

EDIT : Never mind, I just read the article. I got a little ahead of myself there.
