A similar slope was removed on Bow Trail westbound under Crowchild southbound for the West LRT project. The westbound lanes were shifted north in the vacated space to make room for the LRT in the middle.

I'm totally ignorant of the actual civil engineering involved, but it didn't appear to be a big deal at the time.
