Does anyone know what's happening at the NW corner of 16th and Walnut - in front of Rag and Bone? The sidewalk has been closed and heavy machinery has been on site for several months at this point. There's opaque construction fencing that secures the site so you can't actually see what they're excavating/working on.

Based on the amount of time and the lack of transparency, it feels odd?

This building will look sharp. I see the small core structure too for the added floors. Great add-on build as it won't block views looking from west to east.

The 41st and Sansom demo is a travesty. Especially considering they could have built on the lot without demolishing the beautiful house next to it.

Im sure this project works fine for the developer and tenant but the city needed a much better design for this redevelopment.

2 tall thin towers would have been ideal and had an amazing impact on the cityscape. Does anyone know why they went so low profile here?

^i believe office footprint (open/collaborative/etc) was mentioned previously.

in tower crane news, one went up today at 218 arch - very jarring (but awesome) in this location.

Office footprint?

If thats the case I wish Aramark ended up in a box down in the Navy Yard. Who builds an airplane hangar on the river in the middle of the city, middle of the skyline?

PMC bunch of hacks

If it's wider and shorter or taller and skinnier what is the difference in square footage? Then what is the difference in cost? While we love tall buildings there's a lot of economics going on here.

Yes, it's pretty startling. This should start to move pretty quickly from here. I've heard that they are close to a foundation pour (once they finish forcibly removing the oldest residents of old city).

Yes, I saw yesterday as I was driving by, but did not have the chance to stop and get a photo. Very nice!

An above-ground elevator pavilion is now visible in Love Park. Unable to snap a photo driving by. Also, Aloft is coming along nicely.

if anyone is near 11th and spring garden see if the Independence Press building is under construction. Lots of permits issued in recent months. Seems it will become 92 units.

Passed by a few times over the last couple of months and this is definitely under construction. Started low key (thought it was actually scrappers) but has picked up speed recently. Last time I passed (about a week ago) it looked like new glass had been installed in some of the upper windows.
