Seems accurate given their Facebook description. Man, the folks with west-facing windows will have an unbelievably sweet view.

It's just a Facebook-determined category that it falls under, like "Professional Services" or "Automotive Dealership".

Example:

Doesn't Facebook have all three of "Apartment Building," "Condo Building," and "Apartment & Condo Building" to choose from, though?

No. Just "Apartment & Condo Building".

Seems like that should be a simple enough fix given that apartments and condos are actually different and would likely appeal to different markets in most cases.

It really seems silly that they require an often incorrect category label on the cover photo. The Independent and Fifth & West went with the "Real Estate" category.

I was feeling pretty good about this project after the last ABJ article. But the website is down (hopefully temporarily) and their Facebook page hasn't been updated going on six weeks which is strange since site prep is underway with a November start of construction per the article. I would think their marketing would be ramping up by now.

EDIT: The website outage was temporary.

There is no site prep. The parking area which will be the proposed park is still there and the food trucks have not left. The prep your seeing is the COA and their water/wastewater something project. I think this was pre-planned as an improvement in the area and not directly related to this building.

Why does it list this one as a 41-story tower in the details of the permit? Is that because they include the mechanical penthouse?

Sackman got a demo permit issued today for their 80 Rainey property.

They also posted the site plan and utility plans to the city's FTP site.

They just made the first post to their Facebook page in over three months! I'm starting to worry a little about this one.

LoopNet has a listing for a site at 74 Rainey that would make an ideal location for a highrise development. It says the property is off the market now. This is a rendering:

I believe that's an old conceptual rendering to show what was feasible on the site. Probably 5-6 years old, even from before Riverside Resources owned the dirt and subsequently sold to Sackman (70 Rainey).

Come to think of it, that does remind me of one of the earlier renderings we saw.

I sure hope this one happens. I think it'll be a very nice building.

I hope so, too. The west-facing views would be hard to beat also.

From their Facebook page - it looks like they're planning a balcony for the gym.
