Any idea on why they're moving so slow with pre-leasing or at least publishing floor plans etc? They seem to be way behind in that department when compared to other Austin Apts that have gone up in recent years.

Well after MUCH troubleshooting, using Chrome, creating a Flickr versus Instagram and finally accessing the BBcode vs. the HTML, I finally embedded a photo!

Very nice! This is one of the best looking residential towers in Austin. Definitely stands out from the pack.

Thank you! I agree, I think the dark brick facade really differentiates it from the other recently built residential buildings in Austin.

I really don't mind the traffic when I'm going north into Austin because I'm able to take in the view longer, and it seems I never get tired of it, especially at the point where mopac's last pic was taken. It always impresses and amazes me especially since it virtually popped up so recently, relatively speaking. I also like that our new skyline is not like so many big cities comprised of mostly office towers. When you look at our skyline, you see buildings people live in or seek lodging in so you know the city is still alive after the end of the work day. I'm still hoping for a few more signature office towers though.

Do you think Round Rock would be pissed, if Michael Dell decided to build a tower downtown and consolidate his employees to one building? I almost feel like over the long run it would save the company money. Energy efficient building, less lawns to maintain and water, etc.

I'd love to see a signature tall Dell tower in DT Austin but it's not likely to happen unfortunately.

That will never happen because a) Austin city leaders would probably even be opposed due to the dramatic increase in traffic and b) Dell himself would be opposed due to the dramatic increase in commute times and the associated stress for his employees, who generally live in Round Rock and it's environs, which would reduce worker productivity.

Truth be told, Dell could afford fly in a helicopter and land on the roof....but I agree with all the other points, haha. Round Rock is in its current state largely because of Dell (one could argue the same for Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Hutto, etc). I would imagine they would do everything they could to keep Dell right where it is - and its thousands and thousands of employees can still live nearby.

I was speaking strictly of Austin, not Round Rock. I lived in Austin from '81 to mid 90's and still consider it my city even though I live in RR.

I said for his employees, not for him himself.
