There were so many vacant fields and parking lots at that time, that any addition to the run down area was a welcome addition.

I went past this project today and they were excavating the south-east corner. It looked like they were down five feet or so in a large area. Trucks were on site to remove the dirt as well.

218 units/26 floors = about 8-9 units per floor! This tells me the units are large in terms of square footage which would lead to higher rental rates and attract the high end rental market. Overall, I think that's a pretty nice addition to Victoria Park.

Its not affordable housing.Prices from a little bit of research seem to be going for about 300,000.

Back then...I believe it was late 90's, nothing much was happening in the core, especially in the east Beltline. They were probably just happy to have anything built.

Some good progress. They aren't wasting time on this one.

It appears like there's a nicely landscaped rooftop patio on the base of the building. A similar feature for the BCIMC rental tower would look great!

So does that mean this one is technically UC now, because if they're only doing one level below ground and then pouring concrete for structural piles, isn't that considered construction in the global section?

I think you're right Chad. Those piles will be a permanent part of the foundation, so technically it probably is.

It looks like it is flattening out on the bottom. I wonder if they are down as far as they are going to go?
