No below grade levels on this project, that's why it is looking so fast so early.
The "forms" that are visible in the photos are "Filigree Wide-Slab" panels that are stay-in-place concrete forms that have foam voids set on them to lighten up the weight of the slab. Reinforcing will be set on top, and then the slab will be poured on top and the forms stay in place after the shoring is removed. This system will be used for the first 4 supported levels, then it switches over to a conventional formed concrete slab, that will be poured on "tables" that the crane will yank out from under then fly to the next floor......

I'm not usually a skyscraper "complainer," but I am honestly quite disappointed with 337 feet in the heart of Center City. Something like the PECO building stands out at a moderate height because it's all by itself, but in this dense location a building has to be a little taller. I know some people think every available lot in the downtown area should host something close to a supertall, but I realize that there are many more open lots and everything can't be CITC. However, I think a building in such a prime location as this should at least be 400-450 feet tall. I think they should have put about a 100 feet extra height into this one.

You're 100% right and everyone on this board would candidly agree with you, but there's nothing to be done about it. On to the next one...

Read the pages of thread, not everyone will agree. However I do agree, I will say what meets the street at this location is more important imo. This area is having an intrusion or residents in what was formerly a commercial/financial district.

Moderator, can we please start a thread in the General Development section entitled "PHILADELPHIA - The multiple repetitive pointless too short or wrong location complaint thread"?

Then, everyone who wants to complain about this building can do so to his/her heart's content and the rest of us can avoid reading a thought that has been aired previously here like 42,395 times.

I could christen the new thread by complaining that the City Hall is too short. Had it been 1038 feet tall, then we could have had a supertall built 100 years ago without ever having had to break the Gentlemen's Agreement. And the pyramids are too short too.

While I'm at it, can I remind everyone how they should have built the Phillies stadium at 30th and Walnut or in the Loft District.

While I am unhappy about the height, I know that this building will add to the density of market street. This I'd much better then a empty lot

I had no idea we'd logged 104.69 complaints per post about the height on this thing!

Wow, us Philadelphians, we're such whiners.
