I love these two towers. They are much better than I thought they would better, too bad one of them wasn't 10 floors taller.

I know there has been some talk about the south tower slowing down once it got to the transfer floor and I was looking at it yesterday so I figured I'd toss this out to the people that have some construction knowledge. To go any higher on the south tower they would need to raise the crane up again, however if they were to do that it would be in conflict with the crane on the north tower. Is it possible they are waiting until all crane work on the north tower is finished and that crane is taken down until they go higher on the south tower? Or is that thought completely out to lunch?

Cyric: That's a possibility.... But you never know! I'd personally like to think they're going to add floors, which isn't going to happen, because we'd have seen something out of the planning department to that effect!

That's quite plausible. I would imagine that they will be focusing their efforts on the North tower to get to the Spring completion date. As it is, the South tower seems way, way ahead of schedule. I haven't found a single person who hasn't been impressed by how fast these two have gone up.

Yes, the speed of construction has been amazing. If only a few other projects could move at that pace..

You have a good point. I used to work construction and there is a regulation with Occupational Health and Safety about tower crane proximity. Once they get within a certain distance of each other there are special permits as well as extra provisions to be in place before crane use is allowed again. So I think you are correct that they will wait for the North crane to complete the tasks at hand and be dismantled before resuming the South tower. Just for further info I attached the link to the OHS document regarding cranes (page 6-14 for tower crane proximity regulations)

Keep preachin' it brothers.

I like the Guardians but the complex definitely would have looked better if the towers were different heights.

I've always thought the towers would look better at staggered heights, but I can live with it they they are. The best scenario would have been a 44 floor tower with a 30 floor tower, and then a 14 floor tower across the street

Haha....I would be okay with that too, but I'm with Deepstar. It would be nice to see some of the empty lots around there filled up.
