Thanks Cal! The curve looks even nicer and more pronounced than I expected.

Height-wise, this should reach the top of the crane in that last pic, if not a tiny bit higher, no?

Yes, I'm pretty sure you are correct, it should top out by late summer or early fall. So then we'll know for sure!

Is that the Shangri-La (or another hotel name that I can't remember) undergoing the facade redevelopment in the foreground (right) of that last pic?

Its a nursing residence and dorm/hotel for patient and family of all the nearby hospitals. It is being demolished, a lecture hall will be built in its place.

The new building will be low rise.

If they don't ultimately end up building a student residence, which would surprise me, this would be the first example during the entire boom where we actually lost height and density. Eventually a tower will find its way to this site.

That is crazy that they will be replacing a high rise with a low rise, especially during this boom period Toronto is having. It is not like land value is dropping in the downtown.

In the end this one site will make no difference in the size and feel of the city. We can loose it because for sure, the Nurses or whomever owns this site, will find a way to get a condo tower here for those working in the hospitals nearby. Look at Icon Tower at 480 University which is almost 200 meters and the new tower which rendering was released today for 481 University, also looks to be about 200 meters. We'll see lots more similar scaled development on University in the future, I presume.
