Phoenix metro is predominantly all suburb, and much of it is indistinguishable from other parts of the metro. But my least favorite are the outer suburbs stretching into the desert. On both sides of the metro, you see them squirting through gaps in the mountains that form our Valley. For instance, Surprise is a western suburb that has annexed enough open desert to get halfway to California.
