Upper right. Along with NYU expansion. Hard to stand out in the jungle. Luckily they have the East river, so they are noticeable from a river view. But like anything else, its a hard knock life for a NY tower these days unless you're super thin/tall and on 57th Street.

Will this copper develop a patina (ie: turn green a la the Statue of Liberty)? Or is it coated in something to keep the copper color?

The interior looks just as impressive as the exterior. The sky bridge lounge...

It's made to turn green. You can already see it happening. Pretty cool.

Tilted American Copper Buildings a Dancing Duo in Manhattan Skyline

Quote:
New York City isn't afraid of a little architectural experimentation. Arguably the world's most identifiable metropolis, the largest city in the United States is a magnet for international architects looking to make their mark on the impressive Manhattan skyline. But it's the modern and unmistakable designs of SHoP Architects that have produced some of the biggest local landmarks. Brooklyn's Barclays Center is just one of their wondrous creations, and a tilted twin tower complex at 626 First Avenue is setting the stage for what to expect as work on the supertall 111 West 57th Street advances.

My only gripe with these designs are the mechanical penthouses. Had they extended the facade up to mask them, these would be flawless. That being said, I still think these are likely to become landmarks on the East River and make it into several architectural books/awards dockets.
