Really should know by now that when the temperature drops suddenly overnight after a rain, that means fog! Fog means I should bring my DSLR with me on my morning commute! Nope, totally wasn't thinking about it, so you get cellphone shots.

I've attached a photo from the roof of that building back in 2005 when I was working there.

I noticed christmas lights already up on Jasper Ave. when I was walking there at night. They looked more like "winter" lights than christmas lights, but still; isn't it a little too early for that?

I have no issue with the winter lights going up now, given the longer nights this time of year.

^ Exactly, they're not "Christmas" lights, they are lights that they specifically set up once the nights start getting longer than the days to bring some light and cheer to the streets. I have zero problem with that.

It's not like they're playing Christmas music on the City Hall belltower yet.

The DBA lights are indeed called 'winter lights' and go up mid Oct to mid March.

It was a warm night when I saw them which made me wonder if it was already winter. I wonder what tourists think about them when they see them on a warm night?

I'd agree it does feel a bit strange on a beautiful fall evening to see the street decorated with sparkling snowflakes, but I'm not really bothered by them. As mentioned, it's quickly getting into those dark days and forms of lighting are one of the basic ways to improve public spaces in the winter months.

It's also late october, so I don't know if we have to worry about seeing them on that many more warm nights
