The Garden Lofts are really looking nice. It kind of reminds you that this is what should have been built on Woodward instead of Woodward Place. lol

that last photo is fucking hilarious.

lafayette park... my home, until my lease expires at the end of this month. where to from there? i'm not sure. i've put "> elmwood park" in my user info, as i'm interested in parkview square, but since i'm going to school and working right in the heart of dearborn, within a mile of eachother, it seems smarter to find a place right there.

[yet again, this would be cabasse]

I agree about the Garden Lofts. Hopefully developers will build something even bigger on the Cass Park side of Woodward.

You know that isn't real? It's so obvious you can't even see the windows in that part of the building.

of course it isn't real... and it probably looks quite stupid, but it was kind of fun to take a stab at. I suppose I should've gone the extra step and accentuated the windows somehow - all I did was select the area, and then use the lighting tool in photoshop to create an imaginary beam. (coming from the bottom corners)

also - hope I didn't cheapen your thread, lmich.

That's a unique panorama of Downtown. It's rare you see one from within the downtown.

Yeah, with the downtown being laid out like it is, this is probably one of the few views were you can get a good spread of the skyscrapers from within. I kind of like it better than the typical Broderick Tower view pan to the south which really squishes the skyline together. The only other good view I can think of if the one you get from the top of the Book Tower looking down into C-Mart.

Looking south from Park Shelton over WSU, past the Woodbridge Senior Village to the Ambassador Bridge, with the ghostly shell of the Michigan Central Station looming to the right.

This picture is so cool. I don't know how anyone can hate the way the Ren Cen looks. Sure it doesn't meld perfectly with the rest of the skyline, but it doesn't need to!

It's a stark and unapologetic welcome to Detroit, and represents, perfectly, the toughness of post-riot Detroit. Like the city, it is what it is. I really like how the industrial look of Ford Field, on the left, complements the whole scene.
