It was starting to fill up but you can blame the pandemic for the lack of progress.

^^Yep, that's the site. Weird, because currently there are several wood-framed one or two story buildings going up along Fulton (south side of the site). Doesn't look anything like the construction for all of the 5/6 story apartments around town. If I go by the site again I'll snap a picture.

That’s the leasing offices, mail room and club house. Apts going up south of those 1 story buildings.

That's really disappointing. Having separate buildings for those purposes doesn't seem appropriate at all - very suburban. Will it be gated too?

That's good to hear. I think blaming the pandemic is a little slight, since it was finished for quite some time before any signs of retail tenants.

Well yea they definitely took their sweet time, but they were actually making progress in getting tenants and then everything got locked down. They even put up some promotional wrap for the Low Country Steak on the corner.

District 2 is in the middle of their NPU meeting. The proposal at 536 North Ave is on the agenda. Site plan is included, however no renderings yet. Basically proposing to redevelop the credit union and it’s parking lots. A couple townhomes and perhaps 8 stories of condos with a smidge of retail.

https://www.atlantaga.gov/home/showdocument?id=45803

They deferred applications for a month.

With PCM and the Beltline, that section of north is just going to keep getting developed parcel by parcel. I suspect the Davita dialysis building across the street might not last much longer.

God I hope so. Literally the worst neighbor to the community. Marta Buses constantly blocking the street, filthy parking lot, barbwire fencing.

Also, the few homes along the Glen Iris/North Ave intersection are ripe for redevelopment if someone can get ahold of all of them.

I agree. The dialysis parcel and surface parking around southern dairies would be nice spots for more residences and street retail. To add, Jamestown is sitting on a tremendous amount of surface parking surrounding PCM which it could develop. That’s in addition to the hotel, office, and residence renderings we’ve already seen but haven’t seen progress on.
